Brady, Gregory Lee
In loving memory of Gregory Lee Brady, who was born on September 27, 1961, in Dickson, Tennessee, and peacefully passed away on December 24, 2023, in Lyles, Tennessee at his home. He was 62 years old.
Gregory was the beloved son of the late Junior McCord and Grace Capps Shepherd.
In addition to his mother, He is survived by his daughter, Grace Brady, of Lascassas, Tennessee, and his son, Matthew Brady, of Lyles, Tennessee. Gregory was a proud grandfather to Ben Ragsdale, Emma Henley, Callie Long, Charlotte Blackwell, and Penelope Brady. He is also remembered by his brother, Jason Ragsdale, while his brother Darryl Brady preceded him in death.
Gregory dedicated his professional life to carpentry and welding, showcasing his skill and craftsmanship. He built homes, bridges, and boats at various times in his career.
Outside of work, he found joy in coaching basketball at the East Hickman Junior Pro for both boys and girls, leaving a lasting impact on young lives.
He was known for his love of fishing, Gregory would often be found off the Anderson Bend Bridge, casting his line and enjoying the tranquility of the water. His enthusiasm for the sport went beyond the catch; he fished for whatever would bite, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life and simply being on the water.
He was also a true Tennessee Volunteers fan, Gregory’s passion for the team was evident in his animated reactions during football games. His fervor for the Volunteers was contagious, and he shared these exciting moments with friends and family throughout the years.
Gregory’s kindness and generosity were evident in his daily actions, and he had a heart that was as big as his love for his family. He was a dedicated family man, and he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.
