GOAD,LACEY.WEAVER,GREEN,MCCLURE,SELLERS,BYNUM,BALLEW, LUCAS
I research the GOAD family of Lawrence and Maury counties and elsewhere. Nelly Goad appeared on the 1840 census for Lawrence County with a number of children but did not appear in 1850. Several of her likely children were with other families in 1850 Maury County and several married there ;names were Sarah, Mary, Lucetta(“Lucity”) Newton. Martha. There were many other Goads in Maury but it is the family of Nelly that is a roadblock. – Ken

PRICE
My great-uncle “Billy”, William Martin, PRICE lived near and owned land just south of Loretto, TN. He also had a small parcell of land just south of the TN/AL border in Lauderdale Co. AL. His picture was on the front page of The Democr-, the Lawrenceburg, TN paper, on May 21, 1954, in clelbration of his 100th birthday. Under the picture it is stated “his grandparents came from Ireland”. They were Martin A. and Rachiel PRICE. It also states that “He was born and has lived within five miles of his preaent home in this county, near Loretto”. I am trying to find information concerning Martin A. PRICE. Rachiel was living in Lauderdale Co., AL at the time of the 1860 Census, however, Martin was not listed as living with her. Any information concerning the death date and burial place of Martin will be greatly appreciated.

PAINE, WATERS
I am searching for information on George William Paine/Payne and Sarah E. Wa(l)ters. According to their gravemarkers, he was born in 1855 and she in 1863. It is, at this point, unknown exactly where they came from before living in Lawrence Co., TN..
They were residing in the 15th district, which I assume is the West Point area. I have their Death Certificates, but they do not hold the answers to any questions. It’s almost as if they had something to hide or were very illiterate.
There is a Sarah E. Waters in Dist 15, Lawrence county in 1880. Daughter of John & Jane Waters, age 23 born GA. Father born Arkansas, mother born Tennessee. But this is not the right age to be Sarah.
In that same district is a George Paine age 28 but his birthplaces say England. He’s the only Payne/Paine in Lawrence county in 1880. And, this is not right for his age either.
In 1880 he would have been 25 and she 17, IF the dates on the gravemarkers are correct. ANYONE able to shed some light on these two, P
