Moved to Missouri around 1842, then to present day Hopkins Co., TX in 1845 with brother John and his family.

Hi fellow researchers, I’m seeking information on Malinda WALLACE who married William C. LONG on 13 Oct 1818 in Lawrence Co., TN. I believe she may be the same Malinda Long (age 80) who is listed as an “aunt” in the household of John KENNEDY on the 1880, Colbert Co., AL census, but I have not been able to prove the connection. I am looking for information on Lanier Brewer and Lanier Brewer Jr. Lanier Brewer Jr’s sons Wiley, Henry, Soloman, Julius, and George came to Tennessee from North Carolina early in the 19th century. They came to Wayne County TN. and later to Lawrence County TN. There is an vague legend that Lanier Jr. had 36 children, 35 of whom were boys. Can someone help me with information on my Barnabas Gabel, who supposedly came from Greene County to Lawrence County, TN? There seems to be more than one Barnabas Gabel with information in Greene County. My Barnabas was born 22 Dec 1789, probably in PA, and died 14 Nov 1865 in Lawrence County. He married Sarah Choat, b.13 Dec 1796 on 20 June 1816. Sarah died 2 Oct 1844 in Lawrence and Barnabas married Sarah Crawley Meyers on 1 April 1845. Does anyone know the parents of this Barnabas Gabel or his connection to two other Barnabas Gabels still listed as living in Greene County after my Barnabas turned up in Lawrence? I have information on the Gabels/Gables/Gabells in Lawrence and Maury Counties that I will share.

Rufus Wiley (R.W.) McWhirter was married to Sarah Fisher. He had at least one child, William C. McWhirter, he was bron in 1819, he died on 31 May 1874 Lebanon, LaClede Co. MO, he married Mary Ann Williams on 25 Dec 1849 in Lawerence Co Tennessee, they migrated to LaClede MO sometime shortly after there marriage, they had 7 children, James Rufus, John Newton, Martha Sarah Louisa (Mattie), Rebecca Isabel, Jesse William, Jefferson Young, and Mary Adelia. Seeking marriage place of Wilson Hartwell PHILLIPS and Nancy TROUSDALE McPETERS. Married 4 Mar 1839. Wilson was born in Lawrence Co. and it is believed they were married there. Wilson was the son John (Jack) PHILLIPS and __?__QUILLEN. Jack was born 1788 in NC but lived in Lawrence Co until about 1825 when he moved to Lauderdale Co. AL. It is believed that Jack was the son of John PHILLIPS, Revolutionary War soldier who served in the NC Line and lived in Giles and/or Lawrence Co. from about 1815 until his death in 1827. No info on “Old” John’s wife. She may have been a THOMPSON. Any info on any of these folks would be helpful.

Joshua Ashmore b-1760 NC, join Md. Malitia in Somerset Co. at age 16/17 In Greene co. 1784-1794,was in Roane Co, 1801[Militia again]. Married abt 1894, first child b-1795/96 In Lawrence Co. Tn. by 1815, neighbor of David Crockett, lived in Law. Co until 1840, went to Pope Co. Ark. to be with three of his children there, died 1846. Cannot find any military record on Joshua, cannot find who he married, Just Mary ?? Also cannot find who his parents were, Possibly James and Elizabeth Balch Ashmore, both born in Harford Co.
