BECKHAM,CALTON,GRAXIS
I have just started looking for my ancestors and already hit a brick wall. My grandfather was born in Lawrence Co, his name was Robert Lee BECKHAM he was born on March 7,1875 and married Sarah Ellen CALTON (dob 1-13-1885) on Nov. 5,1893. I have no information on Sarah but my great-grandparents were James A (dob 1-9-1849) and Caroline GRAXIS-BECKHAM (dob 9-10-1850). My grandfather helped build Lawrenceburg and was a very dear person, I have very fond memories of visiting them as a child and young adult off of Buffalo Rd on Beckham Rd named after him, they had 4 children Edward,Chester,Sarah, Robert, also from a previous marriage to Martha DAVIDSON-BECKHAM (dob 8-11-1877) their were J.W.,A.L.,Gedear, L.B., Alberta Mae (Marie), and Mary Alice. I would enjoy hearing from any of my relatives still there or anyone that knew them or can help me. Sarah Evelyn BECKHAMS daughter.

HARDIMAN, RICHARDSON
Uriah Hardiman b abt 1847, son of William J. Hardiman, was born in Charlotte Co., VA and moved to Giles Co. Tn before 1860 with his parents and siblings. It appears that he moved to Lauderdale Co., AL (time frame unknown). Uriah had several half-siblings that also moved to Lauderdale Co.,AL, Lawrence Co.,TN and Giles Co.,TN. I believe Uriah’s widow Rosebud(?) married a Richardson. This family moved back and forth between Lauderdale Co., AL and Lawrence Co.,TN. The children of Uriah alternated between the surnames of Hardiman and Richardson. Known children of Uriah Hardiman and Rosebud were: Marvin Hardiman b 1885 m Mamie Irene Richardson who was probably his step-sister Roy H Hardiman/Richardson m 1st Emma Allen 2nd Rosey E. Vanderford Willie Hardiman/Richardson Maxie Hardiman/Richardson m ___ Beddingfield There is another group of distant Hardiman cousins to Uriah’s children that may be connected to this same Richardson family. This group were the children of Serina Elmira “Chub” Hardiman. Chub

BISHOP
I am researching BISHOPS who lived in Lawrence Co.,Tn. in the 1840’s, 50’s, and 60’s. Alfred BISHOP was head of household in 1850 census. His wife was Permelia. They were both born in Tn. They had two sets of twin girls, two small boys, Alfred M. and Newton F., and a baby girl. Newton F. is my husband’s grandfather. In the 1860 census, “Milly” is head of household, the older girls are gone, except for Susanna who is married and living at home. The boys are 15 and 13, and there is an additional baby girl. I cannot find Alfred after the 1850 census. There is a Milly BISHOP indexed in the 1870 Giles Co. census. There are two Alfreds listed in the Database: Tennessee Census, 1810-91, in the 1840 census of Lawrence Co., on the same page. I feel that one is the father, and one the son, who would be Newton F.’s father. Newton F. served in Co. I (made up of volunteers from Giles Co., Tn.) of the 4th Tn. Mounted Infantry on the Union side during the Civil War. Afterwards he moved to Ky.
