Ashmore Family Bible Records

The names and dates are copied from the family bible of John E. and Margaret E. Ashmore Agee.

James B. Ashmore was born 23 October 1797 in Kentucky. His wife Mary was born 16 September 1790 in Virginia. There were seven children to this union. They are:

1. Robert Ashmore b. 12 July 1820 in Tenn; mar. Julia Amanda Agee. Date unknown at this time.

2. Bailey Ashmore b. 18 February 1822.

3. Bartholloman or Bartholomew G. Ashmore b. 18 December 1823

4. John Ashmore b. 1 November 1826.

5. Amose or Amos (?) Ashmore b. 9 March 1828

6. James Nelson Ashmore b. 3 March 1830.

7. Margaret Elenon/Elinor/Eleanor (?) Ashmore b. 20 Jan. 1832.

Ashmore & Merideth Bible Records

These bible record pages had been torn from the bible when they were received by Mrs. D. E. Beard of Van, Texas. The pages are very brittle and torn, but most dates are clear. The bible belonged to either the great or great, great grandparents of Mrs. Beard.

John Collins Ashmore was bornd May the 22, 1849.

Mary Elizabeth Ashmore was bornd March the 14, 1851.

J. N. Ashmore was bornd Aprile the 13, 1821.

Nancy Jane Ashmore was bornd Aprile the 17, 1833.

James S. Ashmore was bornd November 5, 1853.

Sarah Frances Isadora Ashmore was born ? 11, 1856. (The page is torn and cannot read the month.)

Mandy Merideth was borned Oct. the 23, 1860.

Armindor Merideth was borned Febuary 23, 1863.

Ada Merideth was borned Febuary 23, 1865.

George Washington Merideth the 22 of April 1867.

Jacob Coleman Merideth was borned January the 30, 1870.

Dellar Merideth was borned Febuary the 2, 1882.

James Henry Ashmore was borned January the 9, 1870.

Danyel Elbert Ashmore was borned December the 18, 187(?).

Belle Ashmore was borned Febuary the 25, 1876. (The date 1877 is written over the top of 1876.)

Cora Emma Ashmore was borned April the 5, 1878.

Gorge Ashmore was borned June the 2, 1880.

Nancy Jane Ashmore was borned March the 7 A.D. 1885.

John D. Ashmore was borned March 4, 1889.

Deaths

Mandy Merideth departed this life June the 2, 186(2?).

James Nelson Ashmore departed this life November the 22, 1859.

Washington Merideth departed of this life October the 23, 1871.

Nancy Jane Merideth departed of this life January the 30, 1883.

Ada Wodkins departed this life January the 5, 1887.

J. C. Ashmore died March the 21, 1889.
