Dear Researchers, I am looking for any interested parties that are related to a HENRY GIST, who married Hettie Stewart in Lincoln Co. Tenn in 1832. He served six months in the Seminole Indian Wars of 1836 and later returned to the Maury Co. area. Henry died in January of 1851 in Maury Co. and his widow Hettie got some free land of 80 acres due to a Congressional Act of 1850. Hettie left at least 2 sons, Calvin B. Gist, and David Gist. One of these men married A.A. Workman in Lawrence Co. in 1859. I see that there are about 5 or 6 Gists in the current phone book. I would enjoy talking with those whom are interested. I am looking for information on the parents of Louisa WHITE (estimated birth date 1855 – 63). She married Joseph Robert Durrett and my ggrandmother, Nannie Belle Durrett was born in 1879, Lawrence Co, TN. Could Caleb White have been her grandfather? My grandmother believes her parents were killed in the Civil War when Louisa was quite young, I believe there was at least one brother.

Josiah G. Evans was b abt 1827 in TN. Married Martha M. Curtis on March 22, 1849 in Lawrence Co. TN. Moved to Wayne Co. TN btw 1855 & 1861. Josiah died in 1862 while in the Confederate Army. Sisters of Josiah were Nancy Jane and Cathrine Evans. It is thought that there were four brothers. It is possible, but unconfirmed, that Josiah’s father was Berry T. Evans. I am looking for information about my Ancestors William James REDDICK, Sr. and Caroline SHANNON (I believe this to be her married name from a previous union) who were married on 26 OCT 1867 in Lawrence County, Tennessee. They had one son, William James, Jr. born 6 Aug 1868 or 1869 and then almost immediately they separated. According to later census records William James, Sr. was from Ohio and Caroline (who used the name SHANNON) was from Tennessee. Recently I found a John SHANNON on the 1860 census for Lawrence County listed with wife Caroline (correct age) and daughter, Elizabeth J. age 8. Enumerated with the family is an Elizabeth PARKES, 56 of North Carolina – I believe this is Caroline’s mother. Adison Anthony first appeared on the 1850 census of Ouachita Co., AR. Family history says he killed a man and his father put him on a fast horse to get away. Census indicates birth about 1829 in Va. He died in 1879. No civil war records exist. He may have been Quaker. Cannot locate any other informatin on him.

Seeking actual death date, place of burial of Mary “Polly” PACE, who was on the tax list of Lawrence Co. until 1885. After her death, her descendants sold their shares of the property to her grandson, Albert S. Pace(he moved there from Benton Co. AR and resided on the land for several years). Her children, surviving at the time: James Dean PACE; Robert Richmond PACE, and Sarah BUSICK. These children had all moved by 1870’s to AR. Mary PACE’S maiden name was HENDRIX, dau. of John and Sarah HENDRIX. She was born ca 1814, in KY. Her husband, who died in 1850, was Thomas PACE, son of William and Sarah Frazier PACE. She may be buried in Mint Springs Cemetery, where her sister, Elmira Jane ESCUE, is buried. Any information will be most appreciated.

I am trying to find out information on Nellie Mae FARMER born in Lawrenceburg,TN 1 November 1888. The info I have says all her brothers and sisters were born there. (Emmit Emerson b. 20 June 1887, Roxie Ellen b. 5 February 1891-d.1891, Ernest B. b. 30 March 1892and Mary Hazel b. 3 September 1895) Parents were Emerson Benjamin FARMER and Anna Lizabeth PALMER. The family moved to Delaware County, Ohio. Then Nellie FARMER married Asa B. COPELAND and moved to Akron, Ohio. Any help appreciated.
