JAMES
Looking for connecting families of Pleasant JAMES. Family records say he was a faith healer, farmer, and a woodcraftsman; however, the 1870 Census lists his profession as a blacksmith. Family lore claims a connection to the outlaw, Jesse JAMES, even to the point that Jesse had stayed with family members from time to time. There is no clear poof; however, there is a possible indication. In 1870, Pleasant, Census # 97 lived next door to his son, C.C. James, Census # 98. According to the Lawerence Co., TN, Historical Records, “It was reported that Jesse JAMES, the outlaw, stayed with C.C. James for a time.” Also there were family stories of some Indian blood being in the James line, but there is no proof of this. Would appreciate any help on this line.

GRAHAM, WEAVER, WORKMAN
John GRAHAM was born in England in 1792 and was employed as a hat maker in Lewis County in 1850. He was married to Christian WEAVER, born in North Carolina in 1822, in Lawrence County in 1840. They had a son, in Lewis County in 1845, named Arthur GRAHAM. John and Christian also had children named Tellitha, Nancy, Sarah, James, John, and Elizabeth. Arthur married Amanda WORKMAN, in Lewrence County, in 1866. I would like any information about John GRAHAM, Christian WEAVER, Arthur GRAHAM or Amanda WORKMAN. None of them show up in the census records after 1850, yet Arthur and Amanda were married in Lawrence County in 1866 and Arthur enlisted in the Confederate Army, in Lawrenceburg, in 1861. Arthur and Amanda’s son, Jeff, married in Obion, County in 1899 and his death record reveals he was born in “middle Tennessee” in 1866. I have further information if needed.

TAYLOR, GORDON
My gr-grandfather, Andrew Carroll TAYLOR, was born in Lawrence County Tenn in January 1845, as were his two older brothers, David (1839-41) and Harper(1843). Listed on the 1860 Pope County Arkansas census, it records a Charity TAYLOR as head of the household. Looking for the names of Andrew’s parents. Charity could be his mother or step-mother. Some relatives believe that she was a step-mother and that his real mother was _____ GORDON (a sister to Green GORDON). If Charity is his mom, then what was her maiden name? At present, cannot locate a 1850 census showing this family. Looking for documentation (marriage record) to show a _?__ TAYLOR marrying _?_ and 1850 census with family listed.
