DEATH–After having spent a most delightful Sabbath Day surrounded by his immediate family and Mr. & Mrs. Jim HALE, friends from Crockett County, who were guests in his home, Mr. J. M. TAYLOR, Sr., suffered an acute attack of indigestion about 6 o’clock, and expired a short time thereafter. Mr. TAYLOR was born in Hardinsburg, Ky., in 1865. He was a son of a Methodist minister. At the age of 18, he entered the service of the railroad as a telegraph operator, which was his life’s work. On December 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Lula J. SHOFFNER at Halls, and to this union three children were born, two of whom survive; J. M. TAYLOR, Jr., of Ripley and Mrs. D. M. PEARCE, of Dyersburg; also his wife; mother; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Bettie HOLBROOK, of Owensboro, Ky. ; one brother, Henry R. TAYLOR, of Vine Grove, Ky. Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon, interment in Maplewood Cemetery.
