PIERSON, John Edmond
FRIDAY MAY 27,1932, LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY, TENNESSEE
JOHN EDMOND PIERSON–The people of Ripley were unprepared for the great shock which came to them Wednesday morning about 9 o’clock announcing the death of Mr. John Edmons PIERSON at his home in this city. Ten days had passed since he was first stricken with a severe heart attack, and daily messages from his bedside were to the effect that, though still a very sick man, his condition was gradually improving, and having not suffered any more attacks, his hosts of friends were led to believe that his chances of recovery were growing brighter, though they realized it would take some time to restore him to the health and strength that he had enjoyed. He was the son of Blair PIERSON, survived by his wife, who was Miss Birdie COBB; two sons, John E. PIERSON, Jr., of Gainesville, Fla., and Tom Blair PIERSON, of this city; one brother, J.B. PIERSON, of Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. Paul VERNON, of Memphis, Mrs. Fay TUCKER of New York, City, Mrs. Sanford DRAKE and Mrs. B.C. DURHAM, Jr., both of Ripley. He was 52 years of age, a Presbyterian; burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
