Services for Roy T. ESCUE, farmer and grocer, of Ripley, were held Thursday in Ripley’s First Methodist Church, burial in Edith Cemeery. Mr. ESCUE, 63, died Monday in Lauderdale County Hospital. Born at Forked Deer, son of the late Joseph Albert ESCUE and Mrs. Mamie Lee STANLEY ESCUE, he moved to Lauderdale County in 1917. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maggie HUNT ESCUE; two sons, Joe Turner ESCUE, of Golddust and Paul Hunt ESCUE, of Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. Llyod WHITE, of Memphis and Mrs. Milo H. FIELDS, of Rapid City, SD; four brothers, Bill ESCUE and Joe Clyde ESCUE, both of Halls, Lanie ESCUE, of Ripley and Jack ESCUE of Jackson; one half brother, Leslie Henry ESCUE, of Halls; three sisters, Mrs. Jane HINDS and Mrs. Vergie YOUNG, both of Halls, and Mrs. Eugene BIVENS, of Jackson; one half-sister, Mrs. Jesse SMITH of Halls; one brother, Maynard ESCUE, died during WWI, and his step-mother, Mrs. Jettie ESCUE, of Halls.
