The photo is of Thomas Marvin Pennington and his wife, Minnie Myrtle Abernathy Pennington taken on June 5, 1954 at the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. The photo was taken in their home in Nankipoo, Lauderdale County, TN. They were married on June 5, 1904 in Lauderdale County, TN. They are buried in Halls Cemetery.

Marvin, as he was known, was born in Lauderdale County on December 10, 1884 to John Robert Pennington and Mary Melvina "Mille" Garrett Pennington. Marvin died in his sleep on Aug 31, 1960 on the eve of being sworn in to begin his 26th year of service on the Lauderdale County Board of Education.

Minnie was born December 7, 1886 in Lauderdale County to William Harvey Abernathy and Callie Elizabeth Barham Abernathy. Minnie died September 22, 1961 in Lauderdale County.

They had 10 children.

Marvin and Minnie were my great grandparents.
