William Harvey Abernathy was born Oct 1857 in Giles County, Tennessee. "Pap Bud", as he was known, died August 7, 1938 at his home in Nankipoo, Lauderdale County, TN. He was the son of Felix Thievent Abernathy and Sarah Ann Tucker. His siblings were Robert James Abernathy (b. Mar 1856 - d. 12 Mar 1939) and India Mildred Abernathy Coffey (b. 23 Jun 1873 - d. 30 Dec 1951).

William Harvey Abernathy married Callie Elizabeth Barham on 7 Feb 1886 in Lauderdale County, TN. Callie, as she was known, was born 7 Dec 1866 in Henry County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of John William Barham and Mary Elizabeth Turner. Callie died 24 Dec 1944 at her home in Nankipoo, Lauderdale County, TN.

William Harvey and Callie Abernathy are buried in Halls Cemetery.

4. Sterling Hamilton Abernathy b. 4 Apr 1897 - d. 7 Apr 1971. Married Marguerite Eloise Steelman in Lauderdale County on 11 Jun 1917. 2nd marriage to Blanche Sue Bizzell in Crittenden County, Arkansas on 22 Dec 1941.
