Mattie Marie Wheeler BROWN, 84 years old, of McEwen, passed away April 25, 1999. Her parents, both deceased, were Joshua Francis and Maggie Pearl Damesworth Wheeler. Her husband, also deceased, was Grady L. Brown. Surviving family members are: sons, Jimmy Brown, Columbia,Marvin Brown, Troy; daughters, Peggy Chrisco, Wichita, Kan., Lois Wheeler, Memphis; brothers, Casey Wheeler Sr., McEwen, Andrew Jackson (A.J.) Wheeler, Memphis; sisters , Alice Wiggam, Plymouth, Mich., Hester Pruett and Stella Schultheis, Memphis, Jean Hooper, McEwen; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Tommy Street officiated at Mrs. Brown’s funeral service at the Humphreys County Funeral Home. Burial was in the Wheeler Town Cemetery.

Worthy Notes: Mrs. Brown was born in Humphreys County and was a member of Hurricane Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
