SMITH, S.P. – (d. 1885)
Rome, Ga., May 23. – Dr. S.P. SMITH died this morning, aged seventy two years. He was born in Giles county, Tennessee, and came to Rome in 1866. He was a man of kind disposition and generous impulse, and was highly esteemed in our community. News of his death was received with sincere regret by all our people.
