Runaway Slaves: Richard & Sam

Ranaway from the subscriber on the 15th of July last, two Negro boys, Richard and Sam. Richard is of dark, copper color, about thirty-five years of age, has a scar between the shoulders, caused by a rising, and another below the knee. One knee is affected by rheumatism, rendering him knock-kneed. Sam is about twenty one years of age, weight about 125 or 130 pounds, has an <…> in speech, rendering it difficult for him to express himself when harshly spoken to. Forehead low, and of dark copper color. One hundred dollars will be paid to any person delivering them to me, living near Morning Sun, Shelby county, Tenn., or fifty dollars if confined in jail so that I can get them. — O. FIELD.
