The following items are extracted from the Personals column:

Hon. J.F. BEALS of Friendsville, received an appointment from Washington city this week.
Mrs. E.A. BLACKBURN and daughter, Mrs. LEE, who have been residing in Kansas, returned last week.
Mr. W.R. JONES, of Friendsville, was in town this week, and renewed his subscription to the Democrat.
Mr. J.M. GREENAWAY, a former resident, now a citizen of Lexington, Ky., is in town visiting relations and friends.
Mrs. Dr. B.A. MORTON and little son Bennie left Wednesday last for Ga., to visit her mother, who is ill.
Rev. J.N. BEARD of Indianapolis, Indiana, and a brother-in-law of Prof. H.W. SPRAY, is in town on a visit to relatives and friends.
The following delegates left for Nashville, Monday last, to attend the State Democratic Convention, returning Friday evening: Gen. R.N. HOOD, Jo. BURGER, B.S. CATLETT, John W. KIZER, David POLAND, J.C. MILLER and F.A. ROBINS.
