The following items are extracted from the Personals column:
- Hon. J.F. BEALS of Friendsville, received an appointment from Washington city this week.
- Mrs. E.A. BLACKBURN and daughter, Mrs. LEE, who have been residing in Kansas, returned last week.
- Mr. W.R. JONES, of Friendsville, was in town this week, and renewed his subscription to the Democrat.
- Mr. J.M. GREENAWAY, a former resident, now a citizen of Lexington, Ky., is in town visiting relations and friends.
- Mrs. Dr. B.A. MORTON and little son Bennie left Wednesday last for Ga., to visit her mother, who is ill.
- Rev. J.N. BEARD of Indianapolis, Indiana, and a brother-in-law of Prof. H.W. SPRAY, is in town on a visit to relatives and friends.
- The following delegates left for Nashville, Monday last, to attend the State Democratic Convention, returning Friday evening: Gen. R.N. HOOD, Jo. BURGER, B.S. CATLETT, John W. KIZER, David POLAND, J.C. MILLER and F.A. ROBINS.
