Mrs. KIRK is 90 Years Old (1930)
Mrs. KIRK is 90 years of age. She was born in Buford [sic] County, North Carolina, October 3, 1840, but has spent most of her life in McNairy County. Her husband died years ago and for a long while she lived alone, but is now living with her daughter, Mrs. J.F. VIRES, who lives five miles east of Finger. 53 years ago Mrs. KIRK joined the Christian Church. She is the mother of 6 children; grandmother of 15; great grandmother of 35, and the great great grandmother of 3 children. Mrs. KIRK is in good health and vigorous. She still enjoys light house work. She is known and loved by a host of friends. She has lived to see the fifth generation; a rare occurrence.
