FOSTER, R.C. (Gen) – (d. 1872)

General R.C. FOSTER, a lawyer of Nashville, died on the 28th. He served one term as recorder in that city, during which time he was known as ‘fifty dollars and costs,’ because it was his habit to impose that fine upon every man who had the misfortune to be accused of drunkenness.
