Fire on Bear Creek (1869)

The kitchen of Major Thos. A. LEFTWICK, on Bear Creek, was discovered on fire last monday night.  The kitchen was destroyed, and fears were entertained at one time that the dwelling would also be consumed, but it was saved.  Maj. L’s kitchen was burnt up about a year ago, which was purely accidental.  The latter burning, however, may have been the work of an incendiary.
