Doctor In A Fix (1899)

Charged with Attempt to Criminally Deceive a Young Woman

Nashville, Jan. 1 – Dr. M.T. DAVIDSON, physician, aged 25, and of good reputation, is in jail at Lewisburg, on the charge of abducting Miss Sallie McCORY, aged 20, of Chapel Hill, for prostitution.  DAVIDSON, who lives at Allisonia, this county, is alleged to have gone to the young lady’s house last Monday night and asked her to go to Allisonia, where they would be married.  She consented reluctantly, and they started. En route DAVIDSON, she says, made improper proposals, and, she refusing, he abandoned her upon arrival at Allisonia.  He was arrested and is in jail, unable to give $1,000 bond.
