Deadly Shooting in Sweetwater (1867)

On the 9th, a desperate encounter took place in the town of Sweetwater, east Tennessee, between Capt. William JENKINS, late of the C.S.A., and two brothers, named MCGAUGHEY, and a friend of theirs, in which all four of the combatants were killed. Capt. JENKINS was mortally wounded, but succeeded in terribly avenging himself before he died, as he, in rapid succession, fired a fatal shot at each of his assailants.
