Breach of Promise Case (1872)

Breach of Promise — A breach of promise case absorbed the attention of the Federal Court, this week at Knoxville, in which Mrs. Melinda PUTNAM was plaintiff and W.G. DAVIS defendant.  The jury in the case returned a verdict on Monday giving Mrs. PUTNAM $4,000 damages.
