Bob BIGGS Committed to Jail (1872)

Bob BIGGS, from James County, was committed to jail in this place, on Monday morning last, for stealing fifty two dollars and fifty cents from his grandfather – fifty two dollars of the money was recovered.  Our jail has been empty for the last two weeks, and we were just fixing up to moralize upon the good condition of affairs in this and adjoining communities, but this late theft in James has knocked our calculators square in the head.  If John RUSTON don’t keep things a little straiter in that direction we’ll have to send Hiram PIKE down that way.
