Ordered by the Court that E. WARREN; John MANN; H. S. MOODY; J. B. JETTON and John KING be appointed a jury of view to view out a road, commencing at the five mile post on the road leading from Brownsville to Henry JOHNSON’s, running thence north, on the east boundary line of the HUT tract of land, thence on the line between John and James MANN’s lands-north to Henderson’s Ferry, or the most practiable and direct rout and report to next Quarterly Term of this Court.

Persuarnt to an order of the County Court of Haywood County, Tennessee, the undersigned proceeded to view out the change proposed by Wm. A. LEWIS and report as follows, to wit: Leaving the present road near the west end of the lands on the east side og a ditch, running south on the east side of said ditch, to Nelson ALLEN’s line-thence east with said line to the present road. That said change will not add to the distance in said road, and will not–? the public or private individuals, and they therefore recommend that the change be made, providing the said LEWIS shall open out said road and put the road in a good traveling order. Ordered by the Court that a warrant issue against David MOODY for harboring or concealing two orphan children, named Lucy and Martha HOTCHKISS, heretofore bound by the County Court of Haywood County to S. B. HOTCHKISS, without obtaining the consent of a Justice of the Peace, as required by law and that the Sheriff bring before this Court forthwith, the said David MOODY, and the said Lucy And Martha HOTCHKISS.

S. B. HOTCHKISS regained control of Lucy and Martha HOTCHKISS, two colored minors. Martha HOTCHKISS, colored, was bound out to H. C. NOLEN (who was referred to in these records as Master). Lucy HOTCHKISS, colored, was bound out to B. P. BOYD. (He also referred to as Master).

STATE of TENNESSEE vs David MOODY In this, the above case, the defendant, was brought into Court and after proper investigation, the defendant was discharged on his paying the Cost of this proceeding, for which execution may issue.
