Guardian’s Bond
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that we, Richard Hill, Thomas A. Adams and William G. Roulhac all of the County of Haywood and State of Tennessee are held and firmly bound unto the State of Tennessee in the sum of one thousand dollars in trust for the use and benefit of the minor child hereinafter named who is committed to the care and tuition of the said Richard Hill for which payment well and truly to be made, we hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and Administrators. Jointly severally and firmly by these presents; sealed with our seals and dated this 4th day of November, 1850.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Richard Hill was this day constituted and appointed guardian to Martha E. Hill minor of William Hill, late of said county. Now if the said Richard Hill shall faithfully execute his guardianship by securing and improving the Estate of the said minor child that shall come into hands, possession or knowledge, for the use and benefit of the said minor child until she shall become of lawful age, and shall at the next Term of the County Court to be holden for said county, exhibit upon oath an account of all the state of said minor child which he shall have received into his hands possession or knowledge, and shall annually hereafter account for, and exhibit to the Justices of the Court of said county, the state of the profits and disbursements of the estate of said minor child and shall also account for all property, moneys and means which may hereafter come into his hands, possession or knowledge by virtue of his appointment and shall when she becomes of lawful age, pay said Estate and the increase and profits thereof, to the said minor child as he is required by the laws of said State to do, then this obligation to be null and void, otherwise to remain in full forces and virtue.

I, Littleton Joyner, Clerk of the County Court of said county, do hereby certify that the within is a true and perfect copy of the bond entered into by Richard Hill as guardian of Martha E. Hill. Witness by hand at office, this 16th day of November, 1850

Guardian Appointment

Be it remembered that at a quorum term of the County Court begun and held for said County, at the Court house in the Town of Brownsville, on the first Monday in November 1850, it being the 4th day of Said month, present the worshipful Charles P. Taliaferro, Robert S. Thomas nd Edward J. Read, Justices of the quorum holding said Court. Littleton Joyner Clerk and William J. Shaw Sherriff, also present.
The following proceedings, among others were had, to wit:
Richard Hill came into open court and was duly appointed guardian of Martha E. Hill and entered into bond in the sum of one thousand dollars, with Thomas A. Adams and William G. Roulhac as his securities, approved the Court and ordered to be filed.

We C. P. Taliaferro, E. J. Read and R. S. Thomas justices of the quorum court now in session do certify that Richard Hill who was at the last term of this court appointed guardian of Matha E. Hill is a suitable person for such guardianship and that the security to said bond is good for the __of said bond.
