LOCAL NEWS —
Insurance W. T. CURRIE is all smiles over the advent of a ten pound boy at his home.
Mr. & Mrs. D. M. NEBLETT attended the funeral of their neice, Miss Bertha NEBLETT at Danceyville last Saturday.
A. W. WHITEHURST, tried for killing Walter S. BOND; case ruled self-defense.
Mrs. Mattie YOUNG, who spent the winter here with her brother, Mr. J. A. BREWER, is now visiting in Alabama.
Mrs. Willie M. BROWN and daughter of Cedar Bluff, Ala., are visiting her sister, Mrs. W. B. COVINGTON.
Mr. J. C. HILL and children of Atlanta, Ga., are the guests of his sister, Mrs. W. B. COVINGTON.
NEWS REACHED — Brownsville Saturday last of a marriage at Edith on the edge of this county, the contracting parties being MISS LYDE SUMNERS, daughter of the late Dr. J. R. SUMNERS of Woodville and Dr. Frank PEARCE of Lauderdale county. The groom comes from the state of Ohio. They will reside near Halls.
MR. LEM KIRBY — a well-known resident of this county died at the home of his son near Curve, Tenn., Saturday. His remains were brought here Sunday and interred in the family burying ground two miles east of town. He leaves three children and a host of relatives to mourn his loss.
DIED FRIDAY MORNING — May 13th, 1904, at the residence of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. R. NEBLETT, near Danceyville, MISS BERTHA NEBLETT in her 19th year. The deceased was attending school at Oxford, Miss., when she was stricken with typhoid fever. She was removed to her home about four weeks ago where she lingered until released from suffering by the great reaper-death. Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Danceyville, Rev. H. V. HUMPHREYS officiating. She was the oldest child of a family of four.
SOCIAL AND PERSONAL —
Mr. VANDER CAMERON and Mrs. MOLLIE ALLEN were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the home of the groom, on Sunday morning May 8th, Esq. W. P. BOND officiating.
On Sunday at 2 p. m. in front of Allen Church at Rein, Mr. ROBT. W. MARBURY and Miss EDDIE L. CARTER were united in marriage while seated in their buggy, R. G. HERRING, Esq., officiating.
On the afternoon of Thursady at the residence of the bride’s relatives, Rev. A. S. STEEN performing the ceremony uniting Miss LENA WILSON of Brownsville and W. O. WILSON of Maury City. The bride a daughter of S. D. WILSON; the groom a son of Rev. J. C. WILSON.
