TRACE WOMAN WITH HOUNDS; CHATTANOOGA, TN — Ada PARKER was run down by bloodhounds and arrested, charged with setting fire to the $6,000 residence of H. L. McFARLAND on Mission Ridge. This is the second charge of arson against her.

Mr. Ashley BRUCE and wife have been very ill with lagrippe. Also Mr. Charlie RICE.
Misses Ethel and Mabel STUART spent the day with their brother, Carl, last Sunday.
FROM SOUTH HATCHIE —
Miss Lillie THOMAS has been very sick, but is up now.
Mr. J. W. CHERRY has moved to his new home near Danceyville.
LOCAL NEWS —
Dr. G. M. SAVAGE, of Jackson, will preach at Zion Baptist Church, six miles east of Brownsville, the 3rd Sunday in April.
Will AUSTIN, a negro driver at the race track, happened to a painful accident Tuesday. He was training a horse and jogging him on the track. The horse became unmanageable and kicked AUSTIN from the sulkey, inflicting injuries which will keep him in bed about two weeks.
D. E. BURTON, of Memphis, who succeeded W. N. SCOTT as local manager of the Cumberland Telephone Co., has arrived and assumed charge of the office. Mr. SCOTT was transfered to Winona, Miss.
Rev. R. L. NORMAN has returned from Sharon, where for 8 days he has been at the bedside of his mother, Mrs. J. F. NORMAN. We regret very much to chronicle the fact that Mrs. NORMAN’s illness was fatal, she died Tuesday and was buried at Sharon Wednesday, the burial being conducted by Rev. ALLEN, of McKenzie.
W. P. ADAMS returned home last week from a visit to his old home at Double Bridges in Lauderdale County.

Hon. W. L. RICHARDSON visited his sister, Mrs. R. C. WILLIAMS at Ged last week.
Mrs. J. S. LUTON, of Jonesboro, Ark., is the guest of her mother, Mrs. E. A. BARCROFT.
Mrs. Robert JONES, of Grenada, Miss., is the guest of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ben F. CLARK.
Mrs. W. R. HOLBROOK is visiting Mr. HOLBROOK’s brother, Martin and her son, Robert, in Mobile, Ala.
Mesdames J. W. MATTHEWS, of Hickory Wythe and Addie ZELMA, of Orysa, are the guests of their sister, Mrs. L. C. GILLISPIE.
Mrs. Gabe FEISENTHAL and little daughter, Julia, of Louisville, Ky., are visiting her mother, Mrs. Fannie STERNBERGER.
Mrs. Sallie JEFFRIES, who has been visiting in Decatur, ILL., for the past three weeks, returned home Tuesday, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. J. D. JEFFRIES.
Mrs. H. A. RAINEY and daughter, Miss Annie Laura, who have been in Texas all winter have returned. We regret to learn that Mrs. RAINEY’s health was not improved by her stay.

The Decatur (ILL. ) Review, referring to the funeral of Carl Douglas JEFFRIES, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. J. D. JEFFRIES, former residents of Brownsville says “There was a large attendance and many beautiful floral tributes were sent. The services were conducted by Rev. Geo. P. POSTER, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church. The interment was at Greenwood. The singers were Misses Capitola FRANK and Lillian KEOWN. They sang “Looking this Way,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Asleep in Jesus” at the residence and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” at the grave.
