Miss Annie Sue ADAMS of Eurekaton is visiting he cousin, Miss Ara CALDWELL.
Mrs. J. W. DILL came home Wednesday from a visit to her father, Mr. John BUFFALO of Brownsville.
Mrs. SAVERYE of VanBuren, Ark., is here on account of the illness of her daughter, Mrs. Louis CULBREATH.
Miss Octave RICE of Ripley will spend the winter with her brother, Geo. RUDD.
The infant of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas BOURNE was buried in Greenwood Cemetery Friday afternoon.
Mr. & Mrs. Henry BROWNE of Yum Yum spent Sunday with his brother Sam BROWNE.

Little Burnard WATRIDGE, son of Mrs. Ola WATRIDGE is quite sick at his grandfather’s, Mr. J. F. WHITE.
Dr. Guy W. MUSGRAVE left yesterday to visit his brother, Elsey at Caruthersville, Mo.
LOCAL NEWS —
Howell WILSON, son of S. D. WILSON, of this city, is night foreman of the Santa Ana, Calif., Morning Dispatch. Mr. WILSON got his first lesson in the printing business in The States Graphic.
Miss Ophelia KELSO, daughter of Richard KELSO, who lives a few miles north of town, died Friday and was buried Saturday. Miss KELSO was quite a pretty girl and had just reached young ladyhood being about 18 years old.
Whiteville News. Dr. S. R. WEAVER of Sherman, Texas is here on a business mission and will remain for several weeks. As the executor of his father, the late, J. L. WEAVER, he will endeavor to wind up matters connected with the estate. The doctor has built up a large practice in Sherman, his adopted city.
MRS. WILLIE CULBREATH — wife of Dr. Lewis CULBREATH, of Stanton, died in that place last Wednesday evening of typhoid fever. Deceased was a granddaughter of Mr. W. W. WILKERSON of the 2nd District and a niece of B. L. CAPELL, of this place. She had married only last June, was a young woman of most excellant christian character.
SOCIAL AND PERSONAL —
A beautiful home wedding was celebrated on Tuesday afternoon at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. J. T. HUNTER, uniting in marriage Miss May Belle HUNTER and Mr. Robert DULIN, Rev. R. M. KING officiating. Attendants were Miss Lillie HUNTER, a sister of the bride, Miss Maggie RICHARDSON; Pope COBB and Ed HART.
Charles N. COOPER and Miss Bettie KING were quietly married at the Presbyterian church in this city last Wednesday evening, Rev. C. S. SHOLL officiating.
A pretty home wedding took place at the residence of Howell TAYLOR in Stanton on Wednesday at 1 p. m. between Wm. Hunt BASKERVILLE and Miss Kate Aliene TAYLOR, the groom’s father Dr. H. B. BASKERVILLE officiating.
Mr. John A. THOMAS and wife, Elizabeth THOMAS celebrated their ruby anniversary last Monday. Many handsome and appropriate gifts were presented the happy couple which were received with heartfelt appreciation; among these Mrs. C. H. HILL, a daughter, gave to the aged couple her little son, a bright lad of seven years, who hereafter is to abide in the old home as a light and cheer to his grandparents.
