MRS. ANN REID is reported dangerously ill at the home of her neice, Mrs. R. E. TAYLOR.
John THOMAS and sister, Mrs. Laura MATHES of Columbia are visiting their cousins, T. O. LEA and Mrs. Ella HERRING.
LOCAL NEWS —
Ben BRILEY, Ben DAVIS and Isaiah HENLEY convicted and sentenced to the penitentiary at the last term of the circuit court for ten years each, were conveyed to Nashville Monday.
Mrs. J. V. McCLISH, who has been quite ill for several weeks has been taken to the Infirmary at Memphis.
A very meager report has been circulated here concerning the killing of ALGIE WOOF, a negro, between Toulon and Woodville the latter part of last week. There has been much difficulty in apprehending the guilty in the tragedy as all of the wtinesses are negroes and sympathize with the murderers. A negro named DAN CONNER was arrested and gave states evidence in the case implicating HARLAN ADAMS, ALF CAMPBELL, NUGIE ALLEN and JNO. THOMPSON in the crime. HARDEN ADAMS has been arrested and place in jail.
W. R. NEBLETT & Co., by their attorneys, KINNEY & WILLS, filed a voluntary petition in bankruptcy Wednesday in the Federal Court in Memphis.

Mr. & Mrs. R. W. HARALSON announce the marriage of their daughter, Minnie Lee to Mr. Thomas Duckworth RUSSELL at their home Wednesday November 2nd at 8 p. m.
Mr. & Mrs. Nathan ANDERSON will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding on Tuesday, the first of November.
Mrs. J. D. McCLERKIN of Dyersburg is visiting her sister, Mrs. R. M. KING.
Mrs. Alex STERNBERGER has returned home after a few weeks in Memphis with her daughter, Mrs. Irving MAYOR.
Judge J. H. HUNTER a prominent citizen of Kansas City was in this city visiting his brother-in-law, C. R. HOTCHKISS.
