REV. A. R. WILSON — at one time pastor of the Methodist church in this city and one of the oldest and most prominent members of the Memphis Conference died at his home in Dyersburg last Monday morning at the advanced age of 76 years.
L. W. TATUM — died at the residence of Mrs. Mary BARCROFT in the Eighth District Thursday morning, May 12th at 4 o’clock of pneumonia, after an illness of eight days. His remains were buried at Zion, Rev. R. M. KING officiating.
MISS SALLIE TALIAFERRO — who was committed to the Hospital for the Insane in Bolivar some three years ago, died in that institution last Saturday. The deceased was about 60 years of age. She was the daughter of Lyon S. TALIAFERRO and was the aunt of Messrs. C. M. and L. V. TALIAFERRO and Mrs. S. H. MATHEWS. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery.
SOCIAL AND PERSONAL —
A marriage which will come as a surprise to a large number of friends in that of Miss EDITH MAI BASKETTE and Dr. JOHN D. MULHERON, which took place Sunday at 5 p. m. in the study of Dr. F. C. INGRAM, officiating. The bride is the daughter of Dr. W. H. BASKETTE. Dr. MULHERON was a resident of Brownsville.
B. A. POWELL was called to Eurekaton Thursday evening to attend the bedside of his father who is very sick.
