HILLSIDE — Mr. Jim KINNEY and wife visited their daughter, Mrs. S. W. HILL this weekend. Mr. J. J. KELSOE has taken unto himself a wife last Thursday.
VIVIAN JEWELL — the four-year-old daughter of Rev. S. L. JEWELL, pastor of the Methodist Church at Trenton, Tenn., was burned Monday and dies Tuesday. Mrs. JEWELL was also burned in trying to save her child.
THE COMMUNITY — was deeply shocked to hear of the death of J. ROBERT BREWER, which occurred at the home of his father, J. A. BREWER, Wednesday about 12 o’clock. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery, services by Rev. H. B. JOHNSTON.
MR. WORTH HICKS — of Stanton, came up to Brownsville last Tuesday and while here became suddenly demented. It is said he had been in Memphis playing the races and had lost several hundred dollars. His brother, Mr. Thos. HICKS came up on the same day and carried him back to his home, where he is now.
ESQ. J. L. WEAVER — died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. I. B. MARTIN, near Danceyville last Monday at 2:30 a. m. of pneumonia. At the time of his demise he was in his 73rd year, his wife having died a few months previous at an advanced age. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery. The following children survive him: Mrs. J. L. HUNTER, Mrs. I. B. MARTIN, Mrs. Anna SULLIVAN, Mr. Will WEAVER of this county, and Mrs. M. B. BAILEY and Dr. Rush WEAVER of Texas.
SOCIAL AND PERSONAL —
The marriage of MISS MILDRED COLEMAN ESTES and MR. ELMER TRAPIN RICE will take place on May the 4th at 8:30 o’clock at the Methodist church in Durhamville.
MISS ETHEL BLACKMAN and MR. HOWELL M. SANGSTER were quietly married Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents in Jackson. The groom is the son of Mrs. J. A. CROWDER of this city.
MR. J. J. KELSOE and MISS IDA WILSON, both of the First District of this county were married Thursday evening last week at the residence of the bride’s father, Pink WILSON.
A. L. MARTIN of Fulton, Ky attended the burial of his grandfather, Esq. J. L. WEAVER Monday.
Miss Stella ROBERSON of Memphis came up Wednesday to attend the burial of J. R. BREWER.
Dr. Rush WEAVER of Sherman, Texas is in the city. He was called here to attend the burial of his father, J. L. WEAVER.
