FROST
I’m looking for the parents of my second great grandfather, Guilford S. Frost, born 1832 in Hancock (Hawkins) Co. He is shown in the 1860 Hancock Co. census at 28 yrs. living near John Frost, 56 yrs. Frosts known to be in the county at or around the time of his birth include Simeon Frost. I’ve also found listings for other Frosts in the county in that period, including Robert Frost, Andy Frost and Thomas Frost. By Guilford S. Frost’s first name, it’s likely that he’s from the line of either Capt. James Frost or Capt. John Frost, who served in the Revolutionary War. Capt. James Frost lived in Guilford/Johnson Co., N.C. and fought with his brothers Simeon and Jonas at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.

ROUSE, FREEMAN, TEMPLETON
I am trying to find out about the family of James and Jacob ROUSE of Rogersville, Hawkins Co, TN ca 1860. Per a Civil War pension application of James and his wife Juliet G. (FREEMAN) ROUSE, they had a relationship with my great(2) and great-grandfathers, William Farley & James Elbert TEMPLETON. Per the pension deposition of James’ brother, Jacob, James went into Scott Co, VA to marry Juliet FREEMAN sometime prior to the Civil War. Now, coincidently, William Farley TEMPLETON’s mother was Mary/Polly FREEMAN. Subsequent to the war, James and Juliet lived on William TEMPLETON’s farm in Scott Co, VA prior to moving to Kentucky. Once in Kentucky, my great-grandfather, James Elbert TEMPLETON was James ROUSE’s physician from 1880-1883 in Menifee Co, KY (and provided a physician’s statement to the pension). James & Juliet had 5 kids: Fanny, Ann, William, Jacob and Elbert. He died in KY in June 1904. His brother, Jacob was born Jan 15, 1845 and was alive in July 1905. I would welcome any information and cert
