We are authorized to announce that the ceremony of laying the corner stone of the new Court House will be performed by the Masonic fraternity of this place, on next Tuesday, the 26th inst. We doubt not the affair will be imposing, and will well repay our readers for their attendance on that occasion. Elsewhere we give a description of the building, its dimensions, cost, etc.
The following named gentlemen compose the committee of arrangements on the part of Clinton Lodge No. 54, F. & A. M.: Capt. J. M. RICHARDSON, A. P. TILLER, and G. W. SWINEBROAD, who are using every exertion to have everything in readiness for the occasion. Gen. Albert PIKE is expected to be here. Rev. W. C. GRAY has been selected as the Orator of the Day.
