The Pleasant Hill Cemetery is located twenty seven miles northeast of Chattanooga. Follow highway # 27 north to Bakewell which is twenty four miles. Take the McCall Ferry road one mile to May road for two miles. The land was donated by Col. Joe Clift to the colored people for both Church and Cemetery. There are about two hundred very old unmarked graves.
