Deed for Fifty-Nine Acres of Land
On the Head Waters of Bradshaw Creek

This indenture made on the twenty eighth day of December in the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighteen. Between Josiah Stoval of the Alabama Territory of the county of Cotaco of the one part and Robert Glasco of the state of Tennessee & County of Giles of the other part. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and thirty Dollars in hand paid to Josiah Stoval hath granted granted bargained & sold and conveyed, and by these presents, doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Robert Glasco, a certain tract or parcel of Land, situated and lying on the head waters of Bradshaw Creek, in the said County of Giles and state of Tennessee being part of a 5000 acre tract originally granted to Thomas Polk by the State of North Carolina. Beginning at a large white oak by dogwood, and said Dogwood marked R running from there East, fifty eight poles to a large Beech, thence North One hundred and forty poles to two small hickories thence West sixty eight poles to a beech and Ironwood on the top of the ridge thence South one hundred and fourteen poles to a hickory thence South Eighteen Degrees East, Twenty six poles to the Beginning Corner, containing fifty nine acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold, the above describes land and bargains premises with all the appertinances there unto belonging to the said Robert Glasco , his heirs and assigns forever and the said Josiah Stoval doth hereby covenant and agree with the said Robert Glasco that he the said Josiah Stoval his heirs executors and administrators shall and will at all times warrant and forever defend unto the said Robert Glasco his heirs and assigns forever to the said Robert Glasco against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In witness where of the said Josiah Stoval hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date above written.

Then the within Deed of Conveyance from Josiah Stoval to Robert Glasco was produced in open court and proven to be the act and deed of said Josiah Stoval by the oaths of Pleasant New and James Smith the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be certified for Registration. In testimony whereof, I German Lester, clerk of said court have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said court at office this 30 day of June AD 1819 and in the 43rd year of American Independence.
