KEMP, Harry – One Hundred and Twelve Years Old (1874)
Harry KEMP, a negro man who lives at Hope Hill, in this county, was in town Tuesday and bought a pair of shoes from Mr. MCKELVY. Harry is one hundred and twelve years old, is able to pick cotton and do a great deal of farm work. He remembers the revolutionary war very distinctly, and, judging from his looks, is good for several years more yet.
