MR. LEE WILLIE
GOOCH
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made Heaven and Earth. So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Mr. Lee Willie Gooch was born July 11, 1911 to the late ion and Anna Brewer Gooch. He departed this life December 3, 1978 making his stay on earth 67 years. He joined Hopewell Baptist Church at an early age.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Nadine Gooch, Cedar Grove, Tn., five sons, Mr. Willie Howard Gooch and Mr. Billy Don Gooch, both of Cedar Grove, Mr. Thomas Gooch, Wildersville, Mr. Edward Gooch, Lexington. and Mr. Joe L. Gooch, Huntingdon; four daughters, Mrs. Lela Johnson and Miss Louise Gooch, both of Cedar Grove, Mrs. Curley Staten, Clarksburg and Mrs. Mary Verline Melton, Wildersville; 25 grandchildren, one niece, Mrs. Lucille Johnson, Cedar Grove, other relatives and friends.

OBITUARY
MRS. JEWEL DEAN MENZIES was born January 8, 1935 to the late Mr. Bill and Elizabeth Lizzie Melton. She departed this life September 24, 1995 at the Methodist Hospital of Lexington, Tennessee after a very long illness.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie T. Menzies. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church of Yuma, Tennessee.
She leaves to mourn her passing two sons; Michael Menzies of Lexington, TN, Jerry (Chiffon) Menzies of Huntingdon, TN; a stepdaughter, Beverly Kay Mays of Madison County, TN; a dearly devoted friend, Mr. Charlie Robert Parker; nine brothers, Billy Ray Melton, Jimmy Ray Sr. (Daisey) Melton, Roger Lynn (Margaret) Melton, Thomas (Rochelle) Melton, Danny Ray (Inell) Melton and Joe Lewis Staten, all of Huntingdon, TN; Paul (Lula Mae) Melton, Ellis Ray (Dorothy) Melton, all of Wildersville, TN: Roger Dale (Linda) Melton of Champaign, IL; six sisters, Sarah Melton and Alice Fay Melton of Huntingdon, TN; Dorothy (James) McKinney of Wildersville, TN; Marilyn (Paul) Buckley and Patricia (Leon) Seats of Cedar Grove, TN; Bobby (George) Puckett of Henry, TN; two grandsons, Michael Blondell Menzies and Cordaro Lee Menzies; one step-granddaughter, Angela Mays; two uncles, three aunts, and an extremely large host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

OBITUARY
Johnnie James
Parker
Mr. Johnnie James Parker was born on Feb. 10, 1898 at Clarksburg, Tenn., where he was reared in a family of 10 children, 6 girls and 4 boys, born to John and Martha Howard Parker.
During his early childhood, he was converted and joined Parkers Chapel Baptist Church.
He completed Elementary and Secondary Education in Carroll County, and did advanced educational work in Nashville, Tenn.
He was married to Grace Parker April 9, 1921, and 14 children were born, 7 of them preceded him in death, four died in infancy.
Bro. Johnnie was a very progressive farmer and in early life at one time taught public school in Carroll County. He was also a successful carpenter, and worked very hard to support his family.
In 1943, he and family moved to Huntingdon, and later he joined the Clark Street Baptist Church and attended occasionally when his health would permit.
Bro. Johnnie had been in ill health for quite some time, but never allowed himself to become confined completely, nor dependent on others. He enjoyed having neighbors and family members visit him and enjoyed conversation with others and helping others whenever he could.
Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 5, 1979 at 12:30 he peacefully passed away at Carroll County General Hospital to go on to that Eternal home.
He leaves to survive his passing, his beloved wife, Grace Parker; four daughters, Theodosia Anders of Atwood, Tn., Vergielene Butler of Huntingdon, Tn., Myrtle Holmes of Philadelphia, Pa. and Helen Perkins of Toledo, Ohio, three sons, James Parker of Paducah, Ky.; William Parker of Greenville, South Carolina, and Walter Parker of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Ollie Cozart and Vesti Anderson, both of Huntington, Tn., Lera Buckley of Lexington, Tn.; one brother, David Parker of Huntingdon, Tn.; four sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Obituary
The late Mrs. Ada Manor Sturdivant was born in Carroll County, Tenn. She passed from this life at her home in Milan, Tenn. Saturday morning, August 19, 1973 at 4:45 a.m.
She was 91 years of age.
The greater part of her life was spent in Milan as the wife of Will Sturdivant who preceded her in death. These two were the parents of 12 children - of whom 6 have passed on
Mrs. Sturdivant was a devoted mother and a quiet, devout christian. She was a dedicated member of Phillips Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Her survivors are: Johnny Sturdivant, Mrs. Allie Hawkins, Mrs. Alberta Terrell, Mrs. Ruth Ellis, Thomas Sturdivant all of Toledo, Ohio and Mrs. Rose Williamson of Milan; a large number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
