The following is written on the back of this photograph:

This house was built in the 1840s out of beech logs "12 rooms." Fourteen children born in it. This picture was framed by me May 27, 1961 my father's birthday. He J.D. Evans was born May the 27th 1864. I was born Mch 11th 1888.
