The undersigned committee appointed at the October Term 1879 to lay off and set apart one years support for TOM RIDDICK minor of J. H. RIDDICK decd beg leave to submit the following report. We set apart for said purpose Seventy five Dollars in money. All of which is ratified and confirmed by the Court.

MANNING came into open Court and entered into and renewed his bond in the sum of One Thousand Dollars with GEORGE CARTER and A. J. RICHARDSON as his securities who severally achkowledged said bond in open court which was approved by the Court and ordered recorded.

On petition of the plaintiff it appearing that B. F. RIDDICK decd on the 8th day of November 1874 seized and possessed in fee of a tract of seventy six Acres of Land situated in Crockett Co. Tenn. It appearing further that the plaintiff was his lawful wife and is entitled to homestead and Dower in said land. It appearing after that the plaintiff had given the defendant I. L.? NUNN Admr and A. S. RIDDICK, O. C. RIDDICK, C. A. RIDDICK, H. J. RIDDICK, E. P. RIDDICK, G. W. RIDDICK, J. M. RIDDICK, B. F. RIDDICK, F. M RIDDICK, W. B. RIDDICK, T. Y. RIDDICK, N. E. RIDDICK, T. M. RIDDICK, AMANDA RIDDICK, CAROLINE RIDDICK and JOSAPHINE RIDDICK five days notice of this application. It is therefore ordered by the Court that J. H. PARKER and ROBT. BROWN freeholders of said County be appointed Commissioners in conjunction with N. J. LAMBERT the County surveyor of said County to allott and set off the plaintiff a homestead of one thousand Dollars in value out of said Land and one third part in value of the remainder if any of said land for her Dower and report at the next term of this Court.

This cause coming onto be heard before the Court upon the following report of Commissioners appointed at the last term of this Court which is in words and figures as follows

To the Worshipful County Court October Term 1876

In obedience to an order of the County Court at the September Term 1876 the undersigned freeholders having been appointed & duly sworn to allot and set apart to L. A. RIDDICK a Homestead and Dower out of the Real Estate of B. F. RIDDICK her decd Husband being unconnected with the parties and entirely disinterested after having examined the said lands and improvements theron we assign to L. A. RIDDICK for her Homestead fifty 50 acres of land beleiving the same to be worth one thousand $1000 dollars lying and being in Civil district No 10 & 13 Crockett County Tennessee bounded as follows beginning at a stake and pointers runs north 45 poles to the original line dividing Haywood from Dyer County thence west 21 1/4 poles to a stake Elm pointers thence N 91 poles to a stake White oak pointers thence East 65 poles to a stake MILES FLOYD WB line thence South 91 poles to old County line before —–? thence East 8 1/2 P to a stake thence south 48 poles to a stake & pointers thence West 50 poles to the beginning. After laying off said Homestead there being twenty four 24 acres of land remaining we assign to and set apart for Dower for the said L. A. RIDDICK one third part Eight 8 acres bounded as follows beginning at NW Corner Homestead runs East 63 poles to WB line of MILES FLOYD then W 20 1/3 poles to a stake in WB line of J. M. RIDDICK thence W 63 poles to a stake ash Ironwood and red oak pointers thence south 20 1/3 poles to the beginning the following is plats of said Homestead and Dower [map showing property]

In our opinion the lands allotted for Homestead is worth Twenty $20 dollars per acre and that the eight 8 acres allotted for Dower constitutes one third in value of the remainder Given under our hands this 21 day of September 1876.

It was further ordered that letters of Administration issue to the said R. T. MANNING, and the said MANNING was duly qualified as the law directs.

A. NUNN was duly appointed Administrator of B. F. RIDDICK deceased that as said Administrator said NUNN has Exhausted all of the personal effects belonging to the Estate of said B. F. RIDDICK decd leaving lawful claims debts outstanding & unpaid due from the Estate of said RIDDICK decd to the following persons in amounts as follows A. J. RIDDICK 26 17/00 dollars E. B. LUCAS 37 66/00 dollars I. A. NUNN 43 74/00 dollars and that RIDDICK died seized opaid? land mentioned & described in the —-? &C; and that it is necessary to sell said land of Sixteen acres to pay said outstanding debts. it is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed by the Court that said land be sold by the Clerk of this Court after advertising by printed parters? 30 days before sale to the highest and best bidder for one fourth cash and ballance on twelve months time note with approved security required retaining a lien on said land for the purchace money and apply the proceeds first to the payment of all cost herein accrude and secondly to the payment of said outstanding debts and Solicuters fees Remainder If any then to the heirs of said B. F. RIDDICK. As they are entitled the Clerk will report to the next term of this Court until the Coming in of which report all things are held up and It is further ordered that the Clerk will enroll? all the papers in this Case not on the minutes said Land to be sold at the Court house door Alamo Tennessee

Be it remembered this Cause Coming onto be heard finally before the worshipful S. S. WATKINS Chairman of the County Court of Crockett County on the 6 day of August 1877 on the report of the Clerk of sale &C; which report is in words and figures as follows.

The undersigned in compliance with an enter—-? decree rendered in this Case of I. A. NUNN Admr vs G. W. RIDDICK deed? did proved to sell the tract of Land described in the pleadings mentioned containing 16 acres more of less and E. B. LUCAS and I. A. NUNN being the best and highest bidders the same was knocked off to them at Six 30/00 dollars per acre the said NUNN & LUCAS have paid into my hands Twenty five 20/00 dollars (25 20/00) and executed their notes due in twelve months for Seventy five 60/00 dollars with J. N. ALBRITTEN and W. N. BEASLEY as their Securities All of which is respectfully submitted.

FRANCIS J. WOOD Clerk which report being unexcepted to is in all things confirmed It Is therefore ordered by the Court that all the right title and Interest that G. W. RIDDICK, A. L. RIDDICK, O. C. LUCAS purchaser subject to a lein for the unpaid purchase money and that on paying the legal fees therefor they be allowed a copy of this decree for registration as a —–? of title to said land and it is to the Clerk to take proof and report to the present term of this Court what would be a reasonable fee to W. A. POWELL eqr? for his Services as Soliciter and J. W. WILLIAMS fee for Services as Guardian ad litum All of which further Quarters? herein are —? up until the Com— of said report.
