On motion GEORGE W. McFARLAND a Colored Minor orphan was this day apprenticed to JOHN W. McFARLAND thereupon the said JOHN W. McFARLAND came into Court and entered into Bond in the sum of one thousand with R. W. FLEMING and [blank] as his securities which Bond was severally acknowledged in open Court approved by the Court and ordered to be recorded

The Condition of the obligation is this that whereas GEORGE McFARLAND being a minor orphan the County Court bound the said GEORGE McFARLAND to J. W. McFARLAND who is to furnish GEORGE McFARLAND with good diet and good comfortable clothes with good comfortable Quarters and to see him well attended to while sick and said minor GEORGE M. is not to be abused or maltreated during his apprenticship said GEORGE being now about 17 years old or upwards and the said J. W. McFARLAND is to teach or cause to be taught GEORGE M. to read and write well and cypher to the single rule of three and pay him seventy five dollars at the Experation of the apprenticship

On motion and by order of the Court ELIAS JACKSON McFARLAND Colored minor orphan was this day apprenticed to JOHN W. McFARLAND thereupon JOHN W. McFARLAND came into Court and entered into Bond in the sum of one thousand to well & truly comply with the contract this day made with the County Court with R. W. FLEMING and [blank] as his securities which Bond was severally acknowledged in open Court approved by the Court and ordered to be recorded.

The condition of the obligation is this that the said ELI JACKSON McFARLAND being a Colored Minor orphan about thirteen year old or upwards was this day bound unto J. W. McFARLAND. Now the said J. W. McFARLAND is to furnish ELIAS JACKSON McFARLAND with good diet good comfortable clothes and Quarters and to see him well attended to while sick and the said ELIAS JACKSON M. is not to be mistreated or abused or maltreated during his apprenticship and the said J. W. McFARLAND is to teach the said ELIAS JACKSON M. to read and write well and to cypher to the single rule of three and at the experation of the apprenticship to pay him one hundred dollars in the Currency of the Country

This cause on for hearing before the County Court of Crockett County and the witness in be—? the State not being ready for trial on Motion It was Continued until the 2nd day of the next term of this Court and It is further ordered that Notice Issue to DICY SEALES to make persinal appearance at the Court House in Alamo on the first tuesday after the first Monday in October to give evidence in behalf of the State This she shall in No wise omit under the penality prescribed by Law

We acknowledge owerselves indebeted to the State of Tennessee in the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars To be void If JACK MALON shall make his personal appearance at the Court House in the town of Alamo on the first tuesday after the 1st Monday in october next then and thier to answer the state in Bastardy on the Body of DICY SEALES and not depart without leave of Consent.
