Obituary for Noble Glenn England Sr. (July 2, 1925 – November 17, 2011)

Noble G. England, Sr., 86 of Monroe died unexpectedly at 9:41 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Joe Bryant, pastor of Union Street Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park with Military Honors by VFW Post 1138 Monroe.
Born July 2, 1925 in Claiborne County, Tennessee he was the son of Thomas and Della (Steiner) England. He married Mildred Mayes on Jan. 2, 1947. He then married Trena Louise Wright on July 31, 1971 at the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. She preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2002. Noble was employed by Teledyne in the heat treating department for 30 retiring in 1987. He served in the US Army during World War II from June 29, 1945 to November 10, 1946. He was a very active member of the Union Street Missionary Baptist and avid supporter of breast cancer awareness and always participated in the Relay for Life. He enjoyed collecting miniature horse figurines and riding his electric cart around Monroe.
Surviving are his children Jerry G. England of Bullhead City, Arizona; N. Glenn England Jr. of Monroe; Nora D. Bashaw of Flint; Anna M. (Les) Aitson of Onsted and Linda F. England of Bullhead City, Arizona; brothers, Hardin England of Monroe; Odra (Mildred) England of Monroe; Billy (Pinky) England of Tazewell and George (Irene) Odell of Hickory, North Carolina; sisters, Lottie England of Monroe and Dottie Hux of New Market, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Besides his wife Trena he was preceded in death by daughter Glenda Johnson, brothers, Robert, Carson, Ottis and Arlie England and grandchildren David Watson, Connie Watson and Tony England.
