Hint: The location is pronounced with all short vowel sounds and accent on the fourth syllable: uh-liz-uh-BETH-tun.
Blue Cirlce Neon Sign
From the photographer: "At one time, this was a neon sign for Blue Circle Hamburgers. That was a small chain of fast food restaurants around Northeast Tennessee, which made burgers similar to Krysals or White Castles, but apparently better. All of the stores in the chain closed decades ago, except for the one in Bristol, which just closed recently. This store after closing apparently turned into a market. It's located along US321 in Elizabethton, TN" // source: Brent Moore Flickr -- https://www.flickr.com/photos/brent_nashville/ (used with permission)

Elizabethton had its largest growth boom and came to international prominence in the 20th Century. German company J.P. Bemberg opened American Bemberg in 1926, and its affiliate, Vereinigte Glanzstoff Fabriken, built the American Glanzstoff Corporation factory, later known as North American Rayon Corporation.
