Based on the research of Willie Robinson, creator of the roster of Tennessee Colored Pension Applications for CSA Service, only one individual who identified as black with a Bradley County connection applied for a pension.

Henry Bates, whose application for a pension was rejected, stated he was born in Bradley County.  At the time of his application, he was a resident of Monroe County.  Click here to view the TN State Library & Archives’ database record.
