Duggan Family
Charles “Dee” D. Duggan, 68 a lifelong resident of Charleston, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004.
He is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Chloe Liner Duggan of Charleston; sister Ozell Duggan Shipe; and brothers; Clarence, James Grady, Leslie Woodrow and Melvin Duggan. Survivors include his brothers; Herman Duggan of Charleston, Robert Duggan and Edward Duggan, both of Sweetser Ind.; and special care giver, sister, Vera White of Charleston; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday Feb 18, 2004, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Fike Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is in charge of arrangements.

John C. Duggan Dies at Home of Charleston Son
John Crawford Duggan, 80, esteemed citizen of Charleston, passed away at the home of a son, Robert Duggan, in that city, at 11:30 o’clock last evening. He had been ill only a few days, suffering a stroke of paralysis early in the week. Mr. Duggan, born in North Carolina, moved to Tennessee in early manhood, and for the past 35 years had been a citizen of Bradley County. He followed the occupation of farming. Several years ago he retired due to failing health. His wife, formerly Miss Elizabeth Hamby, passed away nearly one year ago, only nine days lacking, to make the twelve months when the couple were separated by the death of Mrs. Duggan. Surviving are four daughters and four sons, Mrs. Eddy Pierce, Cleveland; Mrs. Bessie Dodson, Mrs. Ida Shamblin and Miss Emma Duggan of Charleston; Robert Duggan of Charleston; Earnest, Edward and Frank Duggan of Cleveland. There are also 20 grand-children. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at the Charleston Baptist church, conducted by Hugh Ensminger of Niota. Interment will take place in the Charleston cemetery. Quisenberry of Athens, in charge.

Funeral Services Held Tomorrow for Leslie Duggan
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan 25 (1946), at the Ivers and Alcorn Mission chapel at 11 o’clock for Leslie Woodrow Duggan, 30, Planada, who died Tuesday at the General Hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident near Tuttle on Jan. 19. A resident of Planada for the past 15 years, Duggan was a World War II veteran who served in the air offensive of Europe, Norway, Northern France, Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Jean Duggan (Lang), Planada; daughter Linda Carol Duggan, Planada; parents, Robert and Chloe Duggan, Charleston, Tenn.; sisters, Vera Belle Duggan and Ozell Duggan both of Charleston; brothers, Clarence, Grady, Herman, Melvin, Robert, Edward and Charles D. Duggan all of Charleston. Rev. J. V. Richards will officiate at the funeral service and burial will take place at the Masonic cemetery.
