Update to the Death Records Database
One of the most popular portions of this site has been the Death Records Database, which consisted of more than 40,000 records. As of this weekend, the database has been re-organized.
If you have been a long-time user of the database, you may have known that it consisted primarily of funeral home records and newspaper obituaries. These were meticulously compiled and collected by Glenn Teffeteller and Jeff Worth. Due to changes in the software I was using to host the database, I’ve had to make an update.
Therefore, you will now find that same information listed in the “Deaths — Blount County-specific” section of the Births, Marriages, and Deaths page. There are now three more additions to the list that reflect the content that used to be in the database: the newspaper obituary index, the Memorial Home Funeral Records, and the Miller Home Funeral records.
Enjoy the new format!
