HOOD, Eliza (1891)
Died at Maryville
Mrs. Eliza HOOD, died at her home in Maryville last Sunday. She had an attack of pneumonia several days ago which was severe from the beginning, but it was hoped until a day or two before her death that she might recover. She was a noble, good woman, respected and beloved by those who knew her, for her womanly virtues. Modest, retiring in her disposition, attached to her home, which she made pleasant for its inmates, she will be missed by those who were nearest and dearest to her. Funeral services will be held at Maryville today.
To enable friends of the family who may wish to attend the funeral, a special train will leave the Clinch street crossing, on the K. & A. road, at 9:45, returning to Knoxville at 2pm. She was the mother of Gen. R.N. HOOD, president of the Third National bank, and of Mr. Wm. M. HOOD, of the firm of McTeer, Payne, Hood & Co.
