HENDERSON, Alexander T. – (d. 1882)

Died

Mr. Alexander T. HENDERSON, who was born and raised on the spot where Jonathan LEE now lives in the vicinity of Big Springs, and who will be remembered by all the older people of that community.  Perhaps more than thirty years ago he married Miss Rhoda ALEXANDER, daughter of the late Jas. ALEXANDER, and sister of Mr. Jno. D. ALEXANDER, and moved to Washington county, Iowa, and whose son a few years ago married Miss Teckie THOMPSON, well-known in this community.

Mr. HENDERSON’s mind has for a time or two been somewhat out of balance during his life but was entirely restored, as was supposed, but recently his derangement returned, when he was removed by his friends to the Asylum, at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and now the sad and distressing news comes to his friends here that a few days ago, during the brief absence of his attendant, he made, out of something found in his room, a band or cord sufficient to hang himself until life was extinct when found.
