Opal Stooksbury Wallace, age 90, of Andersonville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001 at Mariner Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 14, 1910, in Union County.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Andersonville where she was a former choir member and Sunday school teacher.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Isaac and Myrtle Witt Stooksbury; sister, Lennie Stooksbury; brothers, James and Lowell Stooksbury.
Survivors: Husband, Walter Wallace – the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past June; daughter, Dana and husband Gene Cash of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandson, Christopher Cash of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brothers, Conley and wife Barbara Stooksbury of Norris, Maurice and wife Thelma Stooksbury of Norris; sister-in-law, Laura Robbie Stooksbury of Andersonville; several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends 7-9 pm Monday, Feb,. 26, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service was 2 pm Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001 at First Baptist Church of Andersonville with the Rev. Terry Moore and the Rev. Charles Hobbs officiating. Interment followed at Andersonville Cemetery.
