TUNNELL

Family Bible Record.

“The Bible was the property of Lady Ann Tunnell, who was the mother of four sons, all of whom were clergymen.  One was a soldier in the War for American Independence; another was a co-worker with the sainted Bishop Asbury.  It is regretted that a portion of this record has been lost.  The book was brought from Anderson Co. Tenn. to Edwardsville, Illinois Territory, and in February 1819 to Carrollton, Ill.

“Names of over eight thousand lineal descendants of Lady Ann Tunnell are given on pages 127 to 169, inclusive, in Volume Three, ‘Notable Southern Families”, which recently came off the press.

Cordially yours,

Lucy M. Ball”
